Welcome to Balanced Rock!

Happy New Year! This is an exciting time for us here at Balanced Rock. We are just launching our website and have an exciting calendar of trips, treks and community events outlined.

Most of my new year's resolutions involve seeking balance. They include: driving less, trying not to fly in airplanes, sleeping outside more often, taking computer free days, and learning how to grow my own food.

Please write in with some ways to lead a balanced life.

We hope to see you on a trip or course this year.

hello lovelies! SO happy to see 'balanced rock' has unfurled its beautiful wings. the site is breathtaking...loving the quotes. sweet goodness. let's see...'leading a balanced' life for me has a LOT to do with scheduling 'solo' time and treating it w/ reverance just as i would if it was a date w/ a friend. my 'mantra' for '08 seems to be 'let go'. not certain what it means yet but i know there's a lesson or two for me in those words. looking forward to hanging out with BR sometime this year.

be WELL...

a stormy teton day leads me to your site. i see three rocks sitting in delicate balance. total focus.
balance for me is in the quote 'do the dishes to do the dishes' which i believe was said by tich nat hahn. not the most romantic way to put it, but a clear definition of how to be balanced in even the most mundane tasks. being completely present with the action you are currently in, not allowing the mind to flutter around with the thousand different thoughts that arrive each minute asking to be followed down unbalanced tippy paths.
I am called away from my reverie of el portal and balanced rock by Bodie the blue heeler who is pawing at the computer monitor as i write, asking to frisk about in the deep newly fallen snow. love love love to you both, you are beginning something so so beautiful and rich and BALANCED.
your admiring friend, Adonia

the site looks wonderful,
i am trying to restore my balance, fighting a nasty viral flu without antibiotics. it is an intence journey and i find myself taking advil everyonce in a while to ease the headaches.
balance
alowing myself this stillness
balance
allowing myself to ask for care from others
balance
seeking it.
be well,

Balance Rock ROCKS El Portal and Yosemite but in a gentle way. Kind of like putting the town in it's lap while sitting in the rocking chair. Another way to help us see our little town in perfect balance. As a decades long EP resident I am seeing what a Sangha we have here. Thanks for the hard work and effort to bring such goodies to our lives!
Love and Peace,
